THE BAND

T. Hudson - Songs, vocals, rhythm guitar

Raised near New Orleans on church hymns, blues, soul, and renegade rock, Tim's budding musical career as a self trained songwriter and member of several cover bands was interrupted for years when surprisingly good grades in college led to work in Spain, Mexico and South America and a career in academia.  He listens to John Hiatt, Bach, Moody Blues, The Band, Lucinda Williams, The Iguanas, Poco and baseball on the radio and wishes he sang like Robert Palmer or Roy Orbison (but who doesn't?).  The father of five, including 11 year old GG who sings occasional backup, and boy-girl twins, Coastal Bend is his only "hobby".  He coaxes original songs from an old Gibson acoustic he bought at a cattle auction (go figure) at age 15 and has visited Jim Morrison's grave, the Buddy Holly Museum and Graceland and every distillery on the Isle of Islay.

J. Di Leo - Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, background vocals.

Born and raised in Vineland, New Jersey, Jeffrey started playing guitar in junior high, where he spent far too much time playing parties rather than hitting the books.  In college at Rutgers, he had the opportunity to study jazz guitar with Ted Dunbar and Kenny Burrell.  One of his other music teachers there, William Fielder, changed his life when he taught him the connections between Bach and Bebop--and introduced him to the philosophy of John Coltrane.  His musical interests are eclectic and he continues to love to have fun with a guitar.  He teaches, reads and writes philosophy and literary criticism.

Angie Caraway - Background vocals, keyboard, flute
Angie has spent the majority of her days in and around the Coastal Bend, and has spent most of those behind a piano: from piano bars to church choir lofts, from teaching elementary music to this latest endeavor.  She and her husband stay busy raising their beautiful teenage daughter - together they are a family of free spirits with new and challenging projects around every corner.  With deep roots in classical and Southern gospel piano and vocals, Angie hopes her subtle regional blend feels like home to our listeners.

Dan Easton - Bass
Growing up on the Texas coast, Dan's first passion is surfing, followed closely by musical interests.  He has dabbled in many different instruments, starting early on with piano in elementary, trumpet in junior high, guitar while studying at Texas A&M, bass for the last 12 years in Austin and Victoria, and lately drums (watch out Matt!).  His taste in music is as varied as the Texas weather, with the latest influences coming from his two kids who introduced him to Jack Johnson's work on the Curious George soundtrack.  Dan has far too many hobbies which means he doesn't master any of them, but instead believes variety is the spice of life.

Matt Wickham - Drums
Matt is a self-taught, part-time drummer.  He absconded his first drum kit from his brother and he used wooden mixing spoons for drumsticks when he broke his real drumsticks.  He got his first real drum kit when he was 13 and proceeded to ruin his hearing over the next ten years playing to Genesis, Rush, Elvis Costello and Kiss.  Playing rarely until his 40's, he then met up with some high school chums and played drums on the CD "Snake Farm" with the band Driftwood, based in Moulton, Texas.  He now yearns to be a world-renowned session drummer, but at this time he has other commitments, i.e., a consulting business, a lovely wife and three wonderful children.\

Dee Dee Hudson - Vocals
Except for the unassailable fact that Dee Dee was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, daughter of the iconic rocket scientist and June Cleaver mom, one could be forgiven for thinking she shared DNA with Janis Joplin and Lucinda Williams.  Despite her masters in speech language pathology, PhD in education and a career in the Episcopal church as a youth leader, she knows at least one line from every song recorded since the advent of Elvis (including all Abba, Weber and Rice, Saturday Night Fever, Urban Cowboy, Linda Rondstadt, Johnny Cash, Disco Mania and Sesame Street) and will "sing that tune and name that tune" in the drop of a (cowboy) hat.  She provides much needed energy and vocal depth to Coastal Bend, especially on bluesy tunes such as "Ease Your Worry Mind", and pro bono photography from her studio, "Light and Soul Photography".
